Description

Natural compounds have been the source of drug development for thousands of years, and the robust amount of information now available to us about how these compounds can influence both health and disease has led researchers and patients alike to reexamine their potential role as therapeutic interventions.

Zetpil™ Suppository Advantage

Zetpil™ delivers nutrition via the rectum with the use of suppositories that have a unique, all- natural formulated base that has revolutionized not only this mode of delivery, but also the ability to obtain nutrients in a far more efficacious method.  These suppositories are a result of combining natural ingredients with a non-irritating, rapid melting (5-6 minutes), readily absorbable (superior retention), antioxidant base material (free radical scavenging ability) and delivers the nutrients directly into the bloodstream in less than 20 minutes in a highly effective manner. Oral supplements are exposed to the hazards of stomach acid, digestive enzymes, food-related breakdown, first pass metabolism, and other bioavailability issues in the gastro-intestinal system.

What is Curcumin?

What is Curcumin?

Curcumin is one of the most studied natural compounds, isolated from the rhizome (underground stem) of the plant Curcuma longa, and its therapeutic potential is evidenced in more than 9,000 articles in the National Library of Medicine (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/?term=curcumin), the world’s largest medical library which collects materials and provides information and research services in all areas of biomedicine and health care.   This research has proven that curcumin is anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-viral, anti-inflammatory, anti-proliferative, pro-apoptotic, and anti-atherosclerotic (building up of plaque in arteries that leads to heart disease) and has powerful antioxidant properties.

Tumeric ≠ Curcumin

The Propaganda

The PROPOGANDA of Curcumin

Understanding the pharmacology of natural compounds requires some time and effort.  Research, from all over the world, spanning decades tells us the therapeutic properties of curcumin cannot be realized when taken orally.  Yet we are constantly bombarded by nutritional companies, health gurus and the media alike preaching the benefits of curcumin from a bottle.  So, what’s the truth?

  • “Despite its efficacy and safety, the clinical usefulness of curcumin is diminished by its poor oral absorption and extensive first pass metabolism, resulting in low oral bioavailability (< 1%). Several studies suggest that oral consumption may not furnish adequate tissue levels of curcumin necessary for effective cancer prevention and treatment. “http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2880212/?tool=pubmed

Research dictates that 12g (12,000mgs) of curcumin must be taken orally for it to even just be DETECTABLE in your bloodstream, not to achieve therapeutic dosages, just for it to be detectable.  That would mean, just for a detectable dosage,  30 of those 400mg pills every day, which is not only difficult to swallow, literally, it is certainly not cost effective.   One popular online company is selling 60, 400 mg curcumin capsules for $38.00.  You would need to buy 3.5 bottles every week, which totals $133.00/week and $532.00/month for this one supplement. Those 30 pills are still also <1% absorbed.

Although many pharmaceutical companies are actively testing various oral formulations of curcumin, it is not uncommon for the process of clinical trials and product development to take more than 12 years. http://jco.ascopubs.org/content/28/17/2925.full.pdf

However, there is hope!

What makes the Zetpil™ Curcumin Different?

Zetpil™ Curcumin is unique because it represents the marriage of science and reality.  By embracing the physical properties of curcumin (low oral bioavailability), the researchers and scientists at Zetpil™ conceived that an alternative delivery method may increase the levels of curcumin one could achieve over a longer period of time.  Based on research-proven concepts of absorption-enhancing natural compounds, excipients, therapeutically effective dosages and state-of-the-art production methods, Zetpil™ has formulated a curcumin product which is cost-effective, safe, non-competitive, avoids enzymatic breakdown in the stomach and liver and is patient-friendly.  The science indicates one must absorb approximately 30-40mg/kg/day of body weight to achieve the predictable therapeutic benefits of curcumin.  The Zetpil™ Curcumin suppository offers the health-conscious consumer the opportunity to potentially meet those levels. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3084451/pdf/nihms-290167.pdf , http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4246621/

Additionally, many raw materials simply have a very low bioavailability , and only achieve around 10% or less (commonly <1%) absorption rates, even if the patient is in optimal health condition. Compromised health, age, or certain conditions that result in an inability to take oral nutrients often preclude these patient populations from obtaining the necessary nutrition to stay healthy which often exacerbates chronic health issues.

Zetpil™ suppositories are a NOW solution to delivering the necessary nutrients to patients, on a daily basis, that is both easy, comfortable and cost effective. The safety and noticeable effectiveness of these products will far outweigh any initial hesitation you have regarding this mode of delivery.

Therapeutic Properties

A Glimpse at Some of Curcumin’s Therapeutic Properties

ANTI-INFLAMMATORY CONDITIONS: May be helpful for arthritis, inflammatory bowel disease (IBS), pancreatitis, and other inflammatory-based health conditions. Curcumin inhibits many inflammatory markers, including, but not limited to the Cox-2 enzyme (Cox-2), inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS), tumor necrosis factor (TNF-α), and nuclear factor kappa B (NF-κB).

NEURODEGENERATIVE DISEASES: Curcumin may be useful for the prevention and treatment of neurodegenerative diseases.  It has been clinically shown to reverse the amyloid pathology associated with Alzheimer’s and other age-related pathologies.

CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASE:  Some research suggests that curcumin may be helpful in reducing cardiac inflammation, as well as reduce total cholesterol level and LDL cholesterol levels in acute coronary patients.

DIABETES: Curcumin may be beneficial in diabetes and obesity by reversing insulin resistance, hyperglycemia, hyperlipidemia, and other symptoms linked to obesity.

CANCER:  Research suggests that curcumin may be able to reduce the side effects of chemotherapy, be a potent free radical scavenger as well as reduce cancer-related inflammatory markers.
